Sisco D Ranch has worked hard for many years to sustain a healthy population of trophy fallow deer for you to chase. Fallow deer are challenging to hunt, rewarding to harvest, and are known for great-tasting venison. They are similar in size to a sika deer and are originally from Europe. These impressive animals can be found all across our ranch presenting many opportunities to the hunter. Our team of guides has years of experience hunting fallow deer and is prepared to put you on a trophy of a lifetime.
What do Fallow Deer look like?
- Weigh up to 220-330 pounds
- Beautiful palmated antlers that can grow up to 38 inches
- They have a paddle or a palm making the antler flatter in appearance - like a moose antler
- Three main color bases: white, tan with white spots, and dark brown
- Within each of these bases, there are even more variations with different shades and spot patterns
- Some axis deer have a dark brown or black line of fur that runs down their spine to the tip of their tail

Sisco D Ranch offers a variety of fully guided hunting techniques, depending on the hunter's preference & ability. Many hunters enjoy the excitement of a spot and stalk hunt over a traditional stationary hunt. This requires comfortable hiking boots & pants to tackle mother nature’s curveballs while we go find the trophy of your dreams. Fallow deer can be hunted with a rifle, bow, or crossbow. You can come hunt for these deer all year-round, however, we recommend booking your hunt between the months of September and February. This is when you'll see the biggest antlers! We also offer Safari Style hunting where we drive around in a 6-seater Polaris Ranger looking for your trophy day or night, whatever & whenever you want.
